ARISE: A Transformative Colorado Festival of Yoga and Music

August 9th, 2019

Community and healing: those are the words that come to mind when partaking in your first yoga-music festival. For anybody that’s been to ARISE before, they’ll likely know what I’m talking about. Nestled between the rolling green foothills of Loveland, Colorado is Sunrise Ranch—an ideal location for an event such as this. Whether you come predominately for the yoga or the music alone, you’ll get a wide variety in both realms. From folk, funk, and electronic to vinyasa flow and AcroYoga, there’s a plethora of activities to choose from over the course of three days. What’s unique about... Read More

April 6th, 2019

This year’s sixth annual NOCO Hemp Expo hit record numbers of attendees at its sold-out event in Denver, Colorado. Last weekend I was among over 10,000 people in attendance at the conference. Just like the hemp industry is growing rapidly, NOCO has grown into the world’s largest gathering of hemp industry professionals in the world—in only six years! The event has highlighted the many uses of hemp, from CBD products, to hemp building materials, to the agendas printed on hemp paper. The event provided education and workshops across the board. There was a special keynote address from Colorado’s... Read More

Glamor on the Home Front

April 14th, 2018

Fort Collins is anything but a dull place to be. It isn’t surprising for you to find events that attract people of all ages, colors, creeds and ideologies. It also isn’t surprising to find events that focus and emphasize community engagement. This week, the event was the PRISM of CSU Drag Show, entitled Geek vs Glam. This show was free to the public and functioned as a fundraiser for the CSU Pride Resource Center for their use in teaching and engaging those who need their services. In fact, the show raised nearly $1800 for the Resource Center. The show featured performers both new... Read More

Beacons in the Darkness

The Light of Hope Breakfast for CASA of Larimer County When you think about Fort Collins, some of the first things that probably spring to mind are college and beer. Perhaps your first thought wouldn’t be that there was a Light of Hope Breakfast for CASA of Larimer County on Wednesday, April 4th. Perhaps you had not even heard of CASA before this post, which is an all-too-common occurrence. For a brief introduction, CASA stands for “Court Appointed Special Advocates,” a group of volunteers that, according to CASA of Larimer County’s mission, act as a “voice in court for abused and neglected... Read More
