Cailean has lived in Colorado his entire life, a 23 year old young man located in the heart of Colorado Springs. He has worked as a freelance writer for clients around the United States, and took the initiative to get first hand experience “behind the scenes” of the culinary industry here in Colorado; at the age of 5 he was reading college level books, and had already begun writing his own stories. In his free time he can be found exploring the state of Colorado, playing music with friends, or continuing to gather knowledge of the local culinary industry, it can be mentioned by his friends and family that he never really stops working- his mind always goes back to the same thing: stories. There are so many stories around Colorado that he wants to bring right to your fingertips. While Cailean is the Culinary Contributor for the column “From My Life To Yours”, he felt it important to start a second column that covers topics outside the culinary industry to help further educate the readers, that is where “In Your Own Backyard” comes in. Cailean loves stories, be it a work of fiction or someone's account of a real event, he takes every chance he can get to learn something new. His friends will validate one of his favorite things to say is “eyes on”, which to Cailean means to pay attention- not just in general but to the smallest details possible, as every detail will play a role one way or another. Do not rule anything   Social Media: Facebook- Cailean Anderson Instagram- @caileananderson Column titles: From My Life To Yours In Your Own Backyard- Eyes On

Crystal Angevine is a CSU Alum, who dreams big and works hard. She loves being in the outdoors, lives for her family, and tries hard to be the change she wishes to see in the world. On any given Saturday, she might be found knitting, doing other handcrafted arts, or playing video games. She grew up in Northern Colorado, but still loves exploring Fort Collins and the surrounding areas. What better way to do that than by telling the world about the plethora of events dear old FoCo has to offer?

Tim has been alarmingly enthusiastic about movies ever since childhood. He grew up in Boulder and, foolishly, left Colorado to study Communications in Washington State. Making matters worse, he moved to Connecticut after meeting his too-good-for-him wife. Drawn by the Rockies and a mild climate, he triumphantly returned and settled down back in Boulder County. He's written numerous screenplays, loves hiking, and embarrassed himself in front of Samuel L. Jackson. True story.

Katie traded in her flip flops for hiking boots at age three when her family moved from sunny Florida to even sunnier Colorado.  Katie’s passion for food began at an early age when she would retrieve a strip of bacon from the counter each morning - a daily treat from her nanny.  That was only the beginning for her love of food.  After graduating with a degree in Communications (with an emphasis in Public Relations), she got her foodie start as Yelp Denver’s first intern and has been scouting places to nosh all over Denver since.  For the past 9 years, Katie has maintained Yelp Elite status and made lasting relationships with local business owners, while continuing to be an avid food consumer and writer.  Her latest cravings and discoveries are frequently documented on her Yelp page.  Katie is known for her unique and witty writing style, obsession with avocados, and is considered the go-to girl when it comes to finding a place to dine.  When she’s not finding a way to quit her day job to be the next Guy Fieri, she can be found slinging balls on the golf course, binging on true crime podcasts or indulging at a local brewery in the burbs.  Look for her work each Friday under Bites with Blondie.

As a Colorado native, Russell prefers to spend a lot of his free time in the high country avoiding the crowds and finding new adventures or returning to some of his favorite places for peace and scenery.  He was born near Fort Collins on the Front Range and fell in love with the mountain skyline where the sunrises and sunsets are incredible.  Although he's traveled the Rockies north to Canada, there's no place like home.  Colorado has so many diverse landscapes that it will take years to explore it all.  He finally got a camera to take on his adventures so he could share what he'd seen on his outings and photography quickly became his favorite hobby.  Since he learned to drive, he's been getting to know the back roads of Colorado as he looks for wildlife, scenery, and new places to camp.  A free thinking wanderer, he likes to share his experience and photographs with others who revere Colorado's beauty.

Colin Murchison Director of Media and Business Development
Colin is a Denver Metro native and avid adventurer. Whether he’s climbing volcanoes in New Zealand or exploring Copper Mountain's glades on his snowboard, you can always expect two things from him, a camera in his hand and a willingness to stop and have a good conversation with just about anybody. Colin studied at 4 different colleges/universities in pursuit of his finance degree; however, he’s adamant that the most educational experience he ever went through was living in a van in a foreign country for half a year. That's where his career trajectory changed radically as he discovered his passion for environmental sustainability and photography. Colin is now a freelance digital content creator and photojournalist, hoping his work will inspire others to get out, explore the world, and find ways to minimize their impact on the environment. Alan Tapley is an educator, author, and blogger who has lived just outside of Boulder for the last twenty years.  His published work includes two novels, two children’s books, a series of cartoons in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, and multiple sports related articles. His love for family and the state of Colorado is only matched by one thing, his passion for sports.  The first baseball game he ever attended was at Wrigley Field, before there were lights.  At the final Bronco game at the old Mile High, he allegedly cut out a piece of his seat in the South stands.  But regardless of being here for the Avalanche’s last Stanley Cup, the Rockies only World Series appearance, and all the Broncos’ Super Bowl Victories, his wife never fails to remind him that he wasn’t at the University of Colorado in 1990, like she was.  The year the Buffs football team won the National Championship
