Vaping Illnesses Increasing Support of Marijuana Legalization

October 26th, 2019

As black market vaping products, including THC products, have been increasingly linked to vaping illnesses, support of marijuana legalization has only grown. As marijuana is still illegal on a federal level, agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are unable to regulate products, even in legal states. Meanwhile, legal states are also struggling to keep up with regulation and safety for marijuana products. This is becoming even more of a problem as marijuana related products, including pre-filled vaping cartridges, are far outstripping studies about general vaping risks, and specifically... Read More

Colorado Proposes Law to Ban Additives in Marijuana Vape Products

October 19th, 2019

With a string of illnesses and vaping related deaths in the last few months, the public has been turning a harsh eye towards all vaping products, including marijuana products. Several vaping related illnesses have been seen in Colorado, and nearly all of the patients were using a combination of tobacco and marijuana products. The source of the illness is still unknown, but many have pointed towards black market vaping products. In an effort to quell some of the destruction of vaping related illnesses, particularly in teens and young adults, many cities have taken it upon themselves to remove flavored... Read More

U.S. to Spend $3 Million on Research for CBD and Pain

September 21st, 2019

The U.S. government intends on spending $3 million on research for CBD; none of the money will be spent on the THC counterpart which gets you high. Nine research grants have been approved that research CBD in everything from food to beauty products, along with some other lesser known chemicals, but THC was specifically excluded from the funding. Many find this to be an incomplete analysis of marijuana and pain management, as it is still unclear exactly what part of the plant may be helpful in pain management. This also inhibits the ability to discover whether pain can be managed without the intoxicating... Read More

Army Veteran Learns to Walk and Talk Again While Using CBD

August 10th, 2019

I recently had the honor of speaking with Blake Cook about his experience with the military and how he is crushing his goals while using CBD. Blake is 30 years old and was born and raised in West Virginia. He joined the military in 2010 to join the Army to be in the infantry and was sent to Fort Bragg NC. “I wanted to serve my country because of watching 9/11. I enjoyed the Army and the strong bond between a group of guys that became family.” Blake said. “In 2012 I was blown up by an IED and spent the next 25 months learning to walk and talk again. For years I lived in pain because I refused... Read More

2018 Farm Bill Passes with Flag on The Play

December 22nd, 2018

On Thursday, December 21, 2018, our president officially signed and passed the 2018 Farm Bill. This bill ends the prohibition of hemp in the United States, making it a historical day in our history. The passage of this bill will begin the regrowth of hemp as an agricultural crop in America. As important as this is, there is still much work to be done beginning at the state level to protect our rights and freedoms when it comes to growing, producing, and distributing hemp products that contain CBD. Last week we covered what the Farm Bill means for sports, and today we’re going to look at some... Read More
